Thames-Coromandel District Libraries are open during our usual hours at COVID-19 Alert Level 2. At COVID-19 Alert Level 2, you legally must wear a face covering when visiting public facilities such as libraries, and must stay socially distant from other people, except for friends and family. We will be taking steps in our buildings, such as removing some furniture or limiting the number of patrons, to ensure everyone has fair and safe access to our services. You'll also be asked to record your visit using the NZ COVID Tracer app or on paper. Thank you to everyone who kept our collection items safe at home during Levels 3 and 4. All items which were originally due back between 19th August and 15th September had their due date extended, and were due back on Wednesday 15th September. Please get in touch with our team if you (or your books!) are stuck in lockdown in Auckland or Waikato, and we'll be happy to extend your lending time until the lockdowns in these regions end. Most of our regular events are cancelled during Level 2 - that includes Toddler Time, after-school clubs, crochet and knitting groups, Need a Nerd, and our monthly events like genealogy meet-ups and book clubs. Our meeting rooms will not be available to book during Level 2. We are still able to safely run our Justice of the Peace drop-in sessions once a week in Thames and Tairua - please check our Events page for details. Our Housebound Service is back in action and open to new members - if you are already a Housebound Service patron, our staff will contact you about changes to this service at Level 2. If you're interested in receiving this service, particularly during this pandemic, please call Thames Library. We'll share any new information about our services on Facebook, here on our website's COVID-19 page, and in our e-newsletter as the COVID-19 situation changes. Thank you for your patience as we all adjust to this new way of working.
